The Go Teik viaduct viewed from its entrance beside the track. It was commisioned to be built by the British colonials, opened in 1901. Actually built by an American company, Pennsylvania and Maryland Bridge Construction. At the time it was the largest railway trestle in the world. The Brits built it to extend their reach and influence into Shan State.
