Burma: Inle Lake and Pindaya December 2004

Inle Lake is one of the main tourist attractions in Burma. The lake people grow crops on floating chunks of turf and manufacture items which they sell to tourists as well as ship to major markets across Burma.

Pindaya is a small town close to Inle Lake. It is situated on a small lake. In the cliffs above the town are caves which have been turned into a pagoda filled with hundreds of Buddha icons.
